Appointments and procedures at Vision Care Specialists are covered by nearly all of the vision benefit and medical insurance plans. We want to make sure you receive the care you need when you need it. That’s why we work with several different companies for both insurance coverage and payment plans, so you can pay for services on the spot without worrying about the finances. We’ll gladly walk you through which options apply to your specific vision care needs.

Most vision benefit plans cover routine eye care needs such as eye exams, glasses, and contacts. They will pay all or part of the cost of the exam and eyewear with a timeline of how often these services are covered. Some plans require the individual to pay a co-pay for the services rendered. Our offices accept plans from the following Vision Benefit companies.

  • Davis Vision
  • Eye Med
  • Humana VCP Comp. Ben.
  • Spectera
  • Superior Vision
  • VSP

Medical insurance coverage comes into play during the diagnosis of eye disease or other medical-related vision complaints. Medical insurance also covers most treatments plans or further testing that may be ordered by your doctor to address concerns. Medical insurance plans typically require the patient to pay a co-payment, co-insurance, and deductibles. Please contact your individual medical plan to determine what your financial responsibility will be for medical-related vision services. Our offices participate with most plans from the following companies.

  • Aetna Health of Colorado
  • Anthem BCBS of Colorado
  • CIGNA of Colorado
  • Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Health Net Federal Services
  • Humana of Colorado
  • Medicaid of Colorado
  • Medicare
  • Railroad Medicare

Vision benefit plans can help to lower the cost of eye care and prescription eyewear. Medical and health insurance may cover medically necessary eye surgery like cataracts. LASIK and other elective vision correction surgery usually are excluded from medical insurance plans, but discounts for these procedures may be included in vision benefit plans.
